ALGIERS: Mali's Prime Minister Diango Cissoko arrived in Algeria on Sunday a day after Algiers expressed its unequivocal support for its neighbour, where France and other countries have stepped in to help battle an Islamist insurgency.

Cissoko, accompanied by his Defence Minister Diaran Kone, was welcomed by his Algerian counterpart Abdelmalek Sellal, after Algiers said it backed the Mali government "with whom it maintains multifaceted relations, including in the military sphere."
