South African general election to be held on May 7: Zuma

JOHANNESBURG: South African President Jacob Zuma said the country's fifth fully democratic general election will take place on May 7.

"These are historic elections as they take place during the 20th anniversary of our freedom from apartheid bondage," Zuma said making the announcement.
