Over 65,000 attend pro-Crimea rally outside Kremlin: police

MOSCOW: Over 65,000 people waving Russian flags and banners attended a rally next to St Basil's Cathedral in central Moscow on Friday, in a demonstration expressing solidarity with the pro-Russian authorities in the Ukrainian region of Crimea who want to join Russia, police said.

The rally, called "We are together", began with Russian pop star Oleg Gazmanov singing a patriotic song called "Officers" and took place just outside the Kremlin walls.
