At an electoral rally Sunday to announce the joint Hezbollah and Amal Movement electoral list for the Nabatieh district, party Secretary-General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said that the platform represented the two tenants of hope and loyalty.Addressing the 2008 confrontation against Hezbollah prompted by an order to dismantle the party's telecoms network, he said that the intention was to spark clashes between Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces. He also said that in 2005 there was an American study conducted to test the reediness of the Lebanese military to counter Hezbollah and found that the Army would not agree to undertake the action. In this vain he said that people didn't necessarily need to vote for Hezbollah but should vote for parties that protect the resistance.
