USAID opens water treatment plants in Bekaa

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director Raouf Youssef, Rashaya Mayor Ziad El Aryan, El Housh Mayor Kalim Rashed, and Bakka Mayor Yasser Khalil inaugurated over the weekend three water treatments plants in Rashaya, Bakka, and Al-Housh in the Bekaa. The plants serve at least 7,600 people in the three villages. USAID provided almost $500,000 to build the plants and trained municipal staff to operate and maintain them. The municipalities supplied the land and installed many of the sewage networks.
