BEIRUT: President Michel Sleiman followed up with caretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour Tuesday the recent incursion by Israel soldiers into south Lebanon.
“Sleiman renewed, during a meeting with ... Mansour, his inquiry on the fate of the complaint over the Israeli violation that Sleiman condemned at the time and asked that the Army Command to append its investigation on the incident to the complaint,” a Baabda Palace statement said.
“He [Sleiman] also asked Mansour to follow up on the matter with the Security Council,” the statement added.
Last week, four Israeli soldiers were wounded by an explosion after they crossed the border into southern Lebanon.
UNIFIL Commander Gen. Paolo Serra said days after the incident that Israel had crossed the Blue Line into Lebanon, in a breach of U.N. resolutions, and urged both the Jewish State and Beirut to cooperate fully with the investigation.
