BEIRUT: A policeman was wounded Tuesday in an ambush on Jezzine road in south Lebanon, security sources told The Daily Star.
First Srgt. Maj. Ali Hashem with the Internal Security Forces came under heavy gunfire while driving on the Qatrani Road.
Hashem, from the Bekaa Valley town of Ain al-Tabneh, was taken to Jezzine Public Hospital.
Security forces are searching for the perpetrators.
The sources could not specify whether the ambush was over a personal issue or whether it was an attack on the ISF.
