BEIRUT: A 41-year-old Lebanese man who recently arrived from Brazil was reported missing Wednesday after his car was found abandoned in Zahle, east Lebanon, a security source said.
The source said Ahmad Maarouf reported his brother, Sharif Maarouf, missing after he found his Mercedes-Benz SUV left near Fawzi Deeb’s mansion on the outskirts of Zahle around 3 a.m.
Ahmad told police that the car key and his brother’s mobile phone were found in the car, according to the source. He spoke to The Daily Star on condition of anonymity.
The police has launched an investigation.
