BEIRUT: Police have arrested three members of an auto theft ring operating in Metn and Kesrouan, the Internal Security Forces said in a statement.
The statement said the men – two Syrians and a Lebanese – were arrested Aug. 5 and Aug. 6.
The suspected thieves focused on stealing two models of Toyota: the FJ Cruiser and Tacoma, the police said.
“During interrogation, they [suspects] confessed to stealing cars of this kind,” the statement said.
Only one vehicle – a Toyota Cruiser with a license number 264221/B stolen from Dbayyeh – has been recovered.
A handgun and a small quantity of hashish were also found in their possession, the statement added.
