BEIRUT: A delegation representing various Palestinian factions examined the site of the car bomb in the Beirut southern suburb of Ruwaiss Sunday.
Fathi Abu al-Ardat, the secretary-general of the Palestinian Liberation Organization in Lebanon, led the delegation which made the visit in solidarity with the Lebanese “to denounce this abhorrent crime,” he said.
“You support Palestine, and we support you. You are not alone. And we are doing our utmost to work with the state authorities,” Ardat said.
He added that “the stance of the Palestinian factions operating in Lebanon is clear.
We have declared positive neutrality and we reject using Lebanese territories to settle scores.”
A car bomb killed over 27 people and wounded at least 300 in the southern suburbs of Beirut Thursday.
Security sources said investigators were looking into eyewitness testimony of the attack, which they said was carried out by a suicide bomber.
