BEIRUT: Three people believed to have killed a pregnant woman in the qada of Zghorta two days ago have confessed to the crime, the Army has said.
Lebanese Army Intelligence Thursday arrested Mustafa Abdel-Rahman, his brother Abdel-Aziz and a third person identified as Khodr Ajaj.
According to an Army statement, the three confessed during preliminary investigations that, motivated by theft, they had murdered 22-year-old Fatima Bakkour Ghorani.
The victim, who was seven months pregnant, was found dead Wednesday at her apartment in the Zghorta village of Maryata.
She had been stabbed by “a sharp instrument.” The army statement added that “investigations are ongoing with the suspects to acquire more details and information regarding the circumstances of the crime.”
