BEIRUT: Police Friday arrested four individuals, including three Syrian nationals, for selling fake gold coins in the Metn area.
A statement by the Internal Security Forces said a police unit was collecting information about a gang selling fake gold in the Beirut suburb of Dikwaneh.
After an extensive investigation, the ISF managed to identify the gang members, as well as the place where they were storing the imitation gold, and arrested them.
The three Syrians were identified by their initials as M. Sh., A.A. and A.B, whereas the other, a Lebanese, was identified as A.A.
The ISF confiscated 570 fake gold coins in their possession and an Alfa Romeo.
