BEIRUT: President Michel Sleiman held talks over the weekend with MP Walid Jumblatt on the political and security developments in the country as well as the Syrian refugee crisis.
A statement from the president’s office said Sleiman met the Progressive Socialist Party leader late Saturday at Baabda Palace.
Jumblatt was accompanied by caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abu Faour, it said.
Talks between the president and the PSP leader addressed the Cabinet formation process which has been stalled for more than eight months.
The parties also discussed regional developments and the influx of Syrian refugees into Lebanon, according to the statement.
