BEIRUT: The police arrested a taxi driver for allegedly sexually harassing female passengers Monday after he was identified from photographs of him, his vehicle and license plate taken by a victim and published on her Facebook page.
In a statement, the Internal Security Forces said an intense investigation led them to the taxi driver’s residence in the southern Beirut suburb of Haret Hreik.
The driver was identified by his initials, Sh. M. An anesthetic substance was also found in his vehicle.
According to the ISF statement, the man confessed after several victims came to the police station and identified him as the assailant.
The ISF has asked other victims to come to the Ali Hasan Barracks in the neighborhood of Ouzai to give testimony.
