BEIRUT: The Higher Relief Committee announced Wednesday that it would distribute financial compensations to those who suffered property damage as a result of the Bir al-Abed explosions and the clashes in the Bazerkan neighborhood of Tripoli.
A car bomb ripped through the Beirut southern suburb of Bir al-Abed on July 9, wounding over 50 people, in an attack widely seen as linked to the ongoing crisis in neighboring Syria.
In August, clashes erupted in the old Tripoli neighborhood of Bazerkan, resulting in material damage to houses and shops.
The HRC announced that compensations for those affected by the Bir al-Abed attack could collect their checks from Starco Center on Dec. 19 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Those affected by the clashes in Tripoli can collect their checks from the Industry and Commerce Chamber in Tripoli on the same day, from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m.
