BEIRUT: The March 14 General Secretariat called Wednesday for the formation of a Cabinet to prevent a power vacuum.
“The attack on the Lebanese Army checkpoints in Awali and then Majdalyoun, and the attack in Hermel, as well as the incident in Naqoura are related,” the coalition said in a statement following its regular meeting.
“This relation aims to undermine the power of the state, the integrity of which has been exposed to repeated blows for a long time,” it said.
“The most dangerous thing is that criminals consider the Army their favorite target in order to spread chaos at a time when the Lebanese and the international community have agreed to protect national institutions.”
The General Secretariat urged the president and the prime minister-designate to form a Cabinet capable of running the country and keeping it from being sabotaged.
