BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army arrested three people Saturday suspected of killing a soldier in a personal dispute the day before.

The military said in a statement it apprehended the three who allegedly shot and killed the soldier Mohammad Saeed Janbayn and wounded his brother Faraj.

The suspects' vehicle contained two Kalashnikov and ammunition; the men were referred to the concerned authorities.

In the neighborhood of Soueri in the eastern Bekaa, members of al-Shoman and others from Al-Janbayn engaged in a dispute over the right of way, leading to a brief clash.

Janbeen died in a nearby hospital of wounds he sustained from the shooting.

Houses and a car belonging to al-Shoman were burnt down in the same neighborhood later in the day.
