BEIRUT: Tripoli MPs and prominent figures in the March 14 coalition established Monday a committee to follow up on development projects planned for Tripoli.
The meeting was held in Beit al-Wasat and was chaired by the head of the Future bloc Fouad Siniora, with prominent Tripoli MPs and figures in attendance.
The committee was formed as a follow up to a recommendation made by the March 14 conference on Dec. 15 in Tripoli, which called for a comprehensive plan to address poverty in the city and for ensuring development and job opportunities there.
The committee includes MPs Samir Jisr, Khodr Habib, Samer Saade, Kazem Kheir and Robert Fadel.
Former Finance Minister Rayya al-Hassan and expert Issam Abdel-Qader were also appointed as members in the committee.
The committee was tasked with meeting regularly to follow up on the implementation of the plans.
