BEIRUT: Hezbollah called "heinous" the assassination of Mohammad Shatah, an adviser to Future Movement leader Saad Hariri, and urged the Lebanese to be "rational."
“Hezbollah believes this heinous crime comes within the framework of a series of crimes and bombings aimed at sabotaging the country,” the party said in a statement.
It said the attack against Shatah's vehicle only benefited the enemies of Lebanon and was an attempt to destabilize the country and destroy national unity.
Hezbollah urged the Lebanese to be “rational” and “wise” in the face of threats at home.
It also called on authorities to exert maximum efforts in mobilizing security and judicial agencies to uncover the identities of perpetrators and bring them to justice.
