BEIRUT: The secretary-general of the Telecoms Regulatory Authority defended the institution Monday, responding to accusations that it was an illegitimate entity.
“We at the authority believe in a country of institutions and we take full responsibility [for our actions],” Imad Hoballah said at a news conference at the Telecoms Regulatory Authority’s headquarters.
His statements were in response to accusations made by MP Ghazi Youssef.
Hoballah also stressed that the authority was committed to the rule of law and the policies of the Lebanese government and those of caretaker Telecoms Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui.
He said authorities should be respected and that the accuser should not point fingers at “what he knows is not right.”
