BEIRUT: Catholic schools in Lebanon will close Oct. 15 and Oct. 16 to mark the Eid al-Adha holiday, Bishop Butros Azar, the secretary-general of Catholic schools in the country,said Friday.
Azar told the Voice of Lebanon radio station that Catholic schools would be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday next week for the Muslim holiday.
Caretaker Education Minister Hassan Diab said earlier this week that private and public schools would take four days off next week for the occasion.
Eid al-Adha will start Monday, Oct. 14, and conclude Thursday, Oct. 17, the ministry said in a statement.
Public administration employees will have three days off starting Tuesday.
