BEIRUT: Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri underwent successful surgery Tuesday to remove pins placed in his leg after a 2012 skiing accident, a statement from his office said.
Hariri broke his left leg while skiing in the French Alps in January of last year.
The statement quoted Hariri’s doctor Issam Yassine as saying that the surgery, performed in Paris, was “a success.”
“Mr. Hariri will remain at the hospital a few days for recovery to be followed by a two-week recuperation period,” Yassine was quoted as saying.
