BEIRUT: Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri received Tuesday at his residence in Paris former Deputy Prime Minister Elias Murr, who came to inquire about his health after his recent surgery.
The discussion during the visit, which continued over lunch, focused on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.
Hariri also congratulated Murr on his appointment as head of Interpol Fund for a Safer World, and wished him success in his mission.
Ronald K. Noble, the secretary-general of Interpol, sent a letter to caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati informing him of the executive committee’s unanimous appointment of Murr as the head of the Interpol Fund for a Safer World for the next seven years.
Interpol, the world’s largest international police organization, uses the fund to identify and dismantle organized crime networks.
