BEIRUT: Speaker Nabih Berri called Wednesday for ending the policy of obstruction at the parliamentary level.
“The most dangerous thing is to continue with the policy of obstruction that does not only target the Parliament but the country and the Lebanese,” Berri was quoted as saying during his meeting with visitors at his Ain al-Tinneh residence in Beirut.
“[Berri] called for moving away from this policy and dealing with this sensitive period positively, openly and through dialogue,” the visitors quoted him as saying.
Earlier Wednesday, a continued boycott by March 8 and March 14 parties prompted the speaker to postpone a legislative session of Parliament.
Berri has been postponing the session since July.
