BEIRUT: Caretaker Education Minister Hassan Diab called on Lebanese parties Sunday to come together for the sake of national unity in light of the country’s tense security situation, the National News Agency reported.
“It is the right time for national components to get together, in these hard times, to safeguard national unity and stability in Lebanon, for the well-being of its people,” Diab said.
His comments came during a charity-organized event in a Chouf village to recognize outstanding students.
Diab told the youth to “involve themselves in the Lebanese reality to improve and develop it.”
The event was held under the patronage of Progressive Socialist Party head MP Walid Jumblatt, who was represented by Aley MP Akram Shehayeb, in addition to several other Druze political and social figures.
