BEIRUT: Future MP Bahia Hariri warned Sunday that the country was at “dangerous and critical” crossroads.
Hariri’s comments came during a graduation ceremony she hosted at her residence in the Sidon suburb of Majdalyoun for Grade 9 students from the Bahaeddine Hariri School.
“The country is at a dangerous and critical crossroads. That economic institutions have been ringing alarm bells in almost every sector for the past two years is the best evidence of this,” Hariri said.
Retail stores and banks staged a rare strike across Lebanon Wednesday, demanding officials move forward with forming a government given the deteriorating economic situation.
