BEIRUT: A Turkish citizen whose rental car was found in Jounieh, north of Beirut, is not missing and left the country earlier this month, a statement from the General Security said Wednesday.
Murat Zahdi, suspected to be missing after his car was found, left Beirut on Sept. 11 through Rafik Hariri’s International Airport, the statement said.
A security source told The Daily Star earlier during the day that officials searched Wednesday for Zahdi after his rental car was found parked in the Jounieh neighborhood of Maameltein.
The statement said that investigations are still underway over the Maameltein rental car.
A source said the car had been parked in Maameltin since Sept. 10.
