BEIRUT: A Hezbollah MP met Wednesday with the Turkish ambassador to Lebanon over the cases of Lebanese pilgrims kidnapped in Syria and two abducted Turkish pilots, a statement from Hezbollah said.
Talks between MP Mohammad Raad and Ambassador Inan Ozyildiz took place in the Beirut southern suburb of Haret Hreik.
The pilgrims were taken by a Syrian rebel faction in May 2012 and their families blame Turkey, which is close to the rebels, for stalling their release.
Last month, two Turkish pilots were abducted near Beirut airport and their captors have demanded the release of the pilgrims in Syria.
Separately, Turkish citizen Murat Zahdi, suspected to be missing after his rental car was found in Jounieh, left Beirut on Sept. 11 through Rafik Hariri International Airport, General Security said.
