Kidnapped woman in Tripoli released

TRIPOLI, Lebanon: A woman who was kidnapped earlier this week in northern Lebanon was released Saturday, security sources told The Daily Star.

Sawsan Abdel-Haq, who hails from Akkar, was kidnapped Thursday while en route to the coastal city of Tripoli.

She was going to the Al-Rahma dispensary in Tripoli's Bab al-Tabbaneh neighborhood when she was abducted.

The kidnappers had contacted her family and asked for a ransom.
