BEIRUT: Civil Defense personnel in the southern town of Tyre saved Monday an Ethiopian maid after she jumped off her employer’s balcony in an apparent suicide attempt.
The Ethiopian woman, identified as Ruby, was obstructed by iron wires on the first floor. Civil Defense personnel were successful in saving Ruby, who emerged unscathed.
She was taken to the Qana police station and questioned about what prompted her to attempt to take her own life.
