BEIRUT: A meeting was held Wednesday between Prime Minister Tamam Salam and the ministerial committee assigned to follow up on the solid-waste file to build on a management plan.
“We are working on a plan for solid-waste management,” Environment Minister Mohammad Machnouk said after the meeting.
“We are trying to find all necessary means to finish this process, which will allow us to produce energy out of waste,” the minister added.
To make the plan feasible, Machnouk explained that each district and municipality would be responsible for managing its own waste.
