Police says detain 20 in Lebanon's Tripoli

BEIRUT: Police said Sunday they detained 20 wanted suspects in the northern city of Tripoli during a 24-hour crackdown.

In a statement, the Internal Security Forces said personnel set up checkpoints and launched several raids in search for suspects for one day starting April 26.

They apprehended 20 individuals accused of attempted murder, drug dealing, theft, pick pocketing, abduction, shooting at security forces and possessing unlicensed weapons.
