BEIRUT: A Syrian national suspected of being a member of the Al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front was arrested Monday in east Lebanon, security sources told The Daily Star.
Amjad Shehadeh was taken into custody by state security forces in the Bekaa Valley, the sources said.
He is wanted on charges of belonging to a terrorist organization and recruiting youth to fight in the Syrian war, they added.
Lebanon launched earlier this month a security plan in the Bekaa Valley to arrest people wanted by the authorities and restore peace and stability to the area.
