BEIRUT: Egypt has appointed Mohammad Badreddine Zayed as its new ambassador to Lebanon, the National News Agency reported Thursday.
The appointment was announced in a statement from the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut, which explained that Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi had reshaped and changed Egyptian representatives across the globe.
Zayed, whose mission will begin in September, had previously advised the Egyptian foreign minister on Asian and regional affairs, headed the Egyptian Information Committee and served as Egyptian ambassador to Yemen and South Africa.
He had also worked for Egyptian Foreign Ministry delegations in the U.S. Canada and Saudi Arabia.
