BEIRUT: Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdel-Karim Ali Thursday called for greater coordination between his nation's army and Lebanon's, urging the implementation of agreements organizing the relationship between the two states.

“I don’t differentiate between the battle in Syria and the battle in Arsal,” he said in a television interview, adding that Lebanese-Syrian efforts should be united to fight terrorism.

The Syrian ambassador said he was sure the Lebanese Army would be victorious, urging domestic political factions to dissolve all barriers standing in the face of Lebanese-Syrian cooperation so that “losses would be less and victory greater and swifter.”

He ended by saying Lebanon was facing an accumulation of attacks because it had failed to put into action agreements organizing its relationship with Syria.
