TRIPOLI, Lebanon: Fire fighters struggled Saturday to contain a huge fire that erupted in the old train station in the port of the northern city of Tripoli.

The fire was centered in an area where containers belonging to Sanita are located, destroying three of them while residents fear that the blaze could engulf nearby warehouses.

Civil Defense teams and a fire fighting team with the Tripoli Municipality rushed to the scene of the fire as smoke covered the northern city's skyline.

The Tripoli Port Administration asked the Public Works Ministry to dispatch helicopters to help contain and put out the fire.
