Salam to hold luncheon in honor of Saudi envoy

BEIRUT: Prime Minister Tammam Salam will hold a luncheon Tuesday in honor of Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awad Asiri, bidding farewell to the outgoing envoy.

Asiri is due to leave the country after serving out the end of his term as ambassador to Lebanon. The premier will deliver a speech during the event, which will be attended by Speaker Nabih Berri alongside former prime ministers and MPs, as well as political and economic figures.

Following talks with Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil Monday, Asiri said he gained extensive experience during his assignment in Beirut. “Lebanon is very dear to our hearts as it constitutes a school in diplomacy and political activity,” he said.
