BEIRUT: Because of the risk of increased casualties and prime conditions for fires, Lebanese officials Wednesday warned residents of the dangers of setting off fireworks.
The Interior Ministry’s Civil Defense Department warned in a statement that fireworks were very dangerous and could result in serious injury or death as well as ignite forest fires and cause property damage.
The statement urged citizens to dial 125 in emergencies.
