BEIRUT: Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun was transferred to the hospital Sunday after he broke his shoulder, an MP from the former general’s parliamentary bloc told The Daily Star.

“The incident happened earlier today, and I am heading to the hospital right now to check on him,” said MP Alain Aoun, Michel Aoun’s nephew.

Aoun, 80, heads the largest Christian parliamentary bloc in Lebanon and is a presidential candidate backed by the March 8 coalition.
