BEIRUT: An Internal Security Forces unit came under fire when its members were inspecting an illegal construction in the eastern town of Baalbek, a security source told The Daily Star.

A black Mercedes with tinted windows approached ISF personnel and fired several shots at them but no injuries were reported, the source said. The unit sought to stop the illegal construction of an additional floor to a building belonging to Mustafa Yaghi.

The ISF reported the incident to the State Prosecution's office, which gave the police permission to arrest Yaghi and demolish the construction.
