BEIRUT: Issa al-Baba, 18, fell off the balcony of his house and died Monday, as he attempted to evade arrest for throwing two sound grenades in the northern city of Tripoli.

Al-Baba was suspected of throwing two sound grenades near the Hamayda Mosque in the city, an attack that left two citizens wounded.

According to locals, they stripped him of extra grenades before he fled the scene.

A personal clash between the Al-Baba and the Mrad family prompted the perpetrator to throw the sound grenades near the office of Hussam Mrad behind the Hamayda Mosque.

Al-Baba was allegedly under the influence of narcotics at the time of the assault.

Shortly after the incident, Army units raided Al-Baba's house near the Nahr Abu Ali roundabout.

While attempting to evade arrest, Al-Baba fell off the fourth floor balcony of his house and died upon impact.
