Prolific criminal detained at Army checkpoint

BEIRUT: Soldiers at the Dahr al-Baidar Army checkpoint Monday arrested suspect who has over one hundred and thirty arrest warrants out against him, including warrants for violent crimes.

The combined sentences for his crimes would result in either life imprisonment or the death penalty. The suspect, 27, is wanted for murder, the killing of a soldier, forming an armed group, kidnapping with the use of arms and assaulting an Army headquarters.

The perpetrator is also wanted for extortion, several robberies, car theft, possession of weapons and military clothing, marketing stolen goods, shooting from a military weapon, the transfer of weapons and ammunition, fraud, threat, sabotage and bribery, as well as the trade and promotion of drugs.
