BEIRUT: A man and a woman in police custody have confessed to a string of armed robberies in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Internal Security Forces said over the weekend.
The suspects, a 32-year-old male identified by his initials A.M. and a 20-year-old female who was identified by her initials A.M., were arrested Saturday in the Hay al-Sellom neighborhood, the police said Sunday, adding that the duo confessed to 20 armed robberies in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Two guns found on the suspects were confiscated, the police also said.
The ISF also urged victims of the duo’s crimes to report their cases to either the Mostafa Ali Hassan barracks in Ouzai or by calling the 01-842405 or 01-842403.
