TRIPOLI, Lebanon: A man died in the northern city of Tripoli Sunday from wounds he sustained during overnight clashes in the Old Souk area.

Omar Lamaa was wounded when clashes between two families broke out on Saturday. At midnight, the fighting intensified and later expanded when other gunmen joined the fight.

The Lebanese Arrmy intervened to end the clashes in the city’s centuries-old souks and forced the gunmen to leave the area.
