Italian foreign minister to visit Lebanon

BEIRUT: Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino will visit Lebanon Tuesday, a statement from the embassy said. During her visit, Bonino will meet President Michel Sleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam, and caretaker Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour. Following the meeting with her Lebanese counterpart at Bustros Palace Wednesday, the two will hold a joint news conference at 9:45 a.m. Minister Bonino will also pay a visit to the Italian Contingent operating within UNIFIL Southern Lebanon, where she will meet UNIFIL Force commander Gen. Paolo Serra.
