Palestinian dies after being shot in Ain al-Hilweh

BEIRUT: A 21-year-old Palestinian man was fatally shot Saturday morning in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain al-Hilweh, south Lebanon, security sources said, adding that the motive was likely drug-related.

Two masked gunmen attacked Abdullah Sariya at the camp’s vegetable market and opened fire at him, the sources said.

Sariya is a known drug addict and dealer in the camp, the sources said, adding that he had many enemies.

Sariya was transferred to a hospital where he died later from his wounds, the sources said.
