BEIRUT: Al-Manar television station showed Friday CCTV footage of the explosive-rigged vehicle in the Beirut suburb of Haret Hreik seconds before it exploded.

The footage showed the dark green Grand Cherokee driving through the narrow al-Arid Street in the densely populated neighborhood, where Hezbollah enjoys broad support.

The driver turned the vehicle’s left blinker on in a failed attempt to park the four-wheel drive before it exploded near Al-Jawad restaurant.

Thursday’s explosion killed five people and wounded 77 others.

Forensic experts are running DNA tests on the human remains found inside the vehicle, suspected to be that of a suicide bomber.
