Shatah family thankful for condolences
A+ A-

BEIRUT: Family of assassinated former Minister Mohammad Shatah thanked Friday all those who extended condolences.

“The family of martyr Mohammad Shatah and the Mikati family would like to thank all those who extended their condolences and comforted them during this painful tragedy, notably President Michel Sleiman, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Speaker Nabih Berri, and all Arab and foreign presidents and officials,” a statement from the family said.

The family gave thanks to former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, head of the future bloc Fouad Siniora and other March 14 figures “for their special attention and brotherly embrace that they showed during this painful occasion.”

“Martyr Shatah’s loss will not only be felt by his family and relatives but also by his country, which he believed in and worked and was martyred for.

We hope that his martyrdom will redeem the Lebanese people and his beloved country.”
