BEIRUT: Lebanon's Military Tribunal handed down a death sentence in absentia to two brothers for collaborating with Israel during the 2006 war.
The court, headed by Brigadier Nizar Khalil, handed down the sentence to Joseph and Natan alyaho Kalash after the two were convicted with "collaborating with the Israeli enemy, providing it with coordinates for the Lebanese Army and Hezbollah."
The two also provided Israel with coordinates of brigades which were bombed during the 2006 war.
They were stripped of their civil rights and their arrest warrants have been reissued.
The court also sentenced Mahdi Ali al-Mestrah with 10 years of hard labor after he was convicted with collaborating with the Israeli intelligence, providing information about Hezbollah's movements in Beirut's southern suburbs.
