TRIPOLI, Lebanon: A grenade attack on an Army vehicle in the northern city of Tripoli late Monday wounded two soldiers, security sources said.

The sources told The Daily Star that unknown assailants lobbed a hand grenade at the vehicle near Barrad Bisar in the Tripoli neighborhood of Zahrieh.

An immediate raid was carried out by the military on the single building facing Barrad Bisar to arrest the culprits, the sources added.

The Army had deployed in Lebanon’s second largest city in an effort to end sporadic fighting between Tripoli’s warring sides linked to the Syrian crisis.
